Drunk driver sentenced to 20 years for St. Paul woman's death

A Crystal man has been sentenced to 20 years and six months in prison for being drunk during a crash that killed a St. Paul woman and injured her husband.

Tito Fonzio Campbell, 33, was sentenced Tuesday in Ramsey County District Court for the crash, which happened last April on an Interstate 35E ramp in St. Paul.

Shoua Vang was killed and her husband, Zong Xiong, was injured.

Campbell's blood alcohol level was 0.16 percent, which is twice the legal limit of 0.08. Campbell crashed while being pursued by a Roseville police officer responding to a report that Campbell had stolen the vehicle from his ex-girlfriend.

Authorities said Campbell's 10-year-old son was in the car with him at the time of the crash.

Campbell was convicted on several counts, including fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle resulting in death, criminal vehicular homicide and child endangerment.
