Triple slaying suspects could be charged Wednesday

Prosecutors have until Wednesday afternoon to bring charges against two suspects in last week's triple slaying at a corner market in south Minneapolis.

Two 17-year-olds are in custody. One was arrested Saturday and the other turned himself in to police on Sunday.

A Hennepin County attorney's spokeswoman says prosecutors received an extension in the case and they now have until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to file charges.

Three people were killed Wednesday night at Seward Market and Halal Meat. The victims have been identified as 28-year-old Osman Jama Elmi of St. Paul, 30-year-old Mohamed Abdi Warfa of Savage, and 31-year-old Anwar Salah Mohammed of Brooklyn Park. Authorities say all three died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police have not revealed the motive for the killings.
