A Wabasha County deputy is listed in fair condition, three days after a stolen vehicle collided head-on with his squad car.
Thirty-year-old deputy Andrew Hamann has two broken legs, fractured hip sockets, bruised lungs, several broken ribs, a broken arm and ankle fractures.
His mother says Hamann remains in the intensive care unit. Shari Hamann says considering the extent of her son's injuries she wouldn't describe his condition as "fair." She says he's a long way from getting out of the hospital.
Sheriff Rodney Bartsh says Hamann was struck Friday morning by a 22-year-old Wabasha man. The suspect was in critical condition Sunday.
Shari Hamann tells the Rochester Post-Bulletin she's grateful her son had no head, neck or spinal injuries.
