Amid the effects of the economic downturn has been a scaling-back or delaying of arts building projects around the nation. Closer to home, the Minnesota Orchestra has trimmed the budget for a proposed $90 million renovation of Orchestra Hall to $40 million. Still, the question remains: Are the arts overbuilt?
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Morning Edition arts commentator and St. Paul Pioneer Press theater critic Dominic Papatola to get his observations on this subject.
