Minneapolis elections officials released the results of two more City Council races Friday, including one contest where the winner had to be decided by counting second choice votes.
On election night, 5th Ward Council member Don Samuels didn't get enough first-choice votes to be declared the unofficial winner. But a count of second-choice votes put him over that threshhold, with Samuels getting 52 percent of the ballots cast.
His closest challenger, former Council member Natalie Johnson Lee, received 41 percent of the votes.
Another incumbent, Council member Lisa Goodman, was also declared an unofficial winner. Goodman received more than 68 percent of votes cast in her ward.
Elections officials say the hand count is complete. They are now in the process of entering the data into computers which will calculate the winning totals.
