Pawlenty to travel to Mexico

Gov. Tim Pawlenty announced Thursday that he will travel to Mexico next month to meet with the country's president and speak with business leaders.

Pawlenty will meet President Felipe Calderon on Nov. 9 and will participate in a roundtable discussion with Minnesota business owners. He also will speak to the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico.

Pawlenty said Mexico is now the state's sixth-largest export market. It ranked 13th ten years ago, he said.

Trade opportunities with Mexico cover sectors including agribusiness, energy, environmental technologies, telecommunications equipment and med-tech industries, according to a release from Pawlenty's office.
