Three state lawmakers from Minnesota are bringing their ideas for climate legislation to Washington, D.C.
Sen. Ellen Anderson and Reps. Jeremy Kalin and Kate Knuth visit the White House on Wednesday with about 40 other state lawmakers.
They are talking with members of President Barack Obama's administration about legislation that would cap greenhouse gas pollution and reduce emissions.
Kalin heads a coalition of state legislators who support climate legislation. He says states need a hand in developing the federal bill since they will help to implement the policy.
Anderson, Kalin and Knuth will meet with the state's congressional delegation on Thursday.
