After filing paperwork earlier this week to set up a campaign, Minnesota State Sen. Tarryl Clark said Wednesday that she is running for Congress.
In a letter to her supporters, Clark said incumbent Republican Michele Bachmann's biggest accomplishments include creating controversy and working the talk show circuit instead of making positive changes in the 6th district.
"So I believe right now we have ineffective leadership it's time for a change and to actually focus on the people in the district as opposed to other things she seems interested," Clark said.
Clark said she is confident she can win the DFL endorsement.
Two other candidates have also announced their intent to seek DFL Party endorsement in the 6th District - former Independence Party lieutenant governor candidate Maureen Reed and Elwyn Tinklenberg, who ran against Bachmann last year.
