A coalition of Somali groups is holding a news conference Tuesday to respond to an ongoing terror investigation and the recent indictments of two men on terrorism-related charges.
The coalition includes civil, religious and political groups. Members say they want to make sure the true collective voice of the Somali community is heard.
The coalition is called Somali Voices. It includes members of the United Somali Movement, Somali Youth Network Council, Somali Action Alliance and other groups.
As many as 20 young Somali men have left the Twin Cities over the last 18 months and traveled to Somalia - possibly to fight with Islamic militants. Two men who have returned to the U.S. have been indicted. Salah Osman Ahmed and Abdifatah Yusuf Isse face terrorism-related charges.
