Web site benefiting Hauser family shut down

A Web site created to help the family of a 13-year-old cancer-stricken boy who fled Minnesota with his mother because they objected to chemotherapy has been shut down.

The site, www.dannyhauser.com, had been set up earlier this week by family attorney Calvin Johnson to help raise money for Danny Hauser, and help the boy communicate with the public.

"Because of public perception, the Hausers have requested that this Web site be closed until all ramifications have been explored," said a statement on the site.

On Wednesday, Johnson said while the Hausers have health insurance, they faced legal bills and the costs of alternative medicines not covered by insurance.

The site is now redirecting visitors to www.calvinpjohnson.com, Johnson's law firm, for updates.
