(AP) - Minnesota's hold on Northwest Airlines is a little looser.

The commission that runs Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport voted Monday to let Delta out of Northwest's old agreements to keep its headquarters here, along with a hub and a minimum number of jobs.

The new deal keeps a requirement for 10,000 jobs in the state, although that's fewer than are in Minnesota currently.

The new agreement requires 400 flights per day, more than the old deal called for.

The old Northwest agreement was forged in exchange for state financial support for the airline in 1992. Delta was poised to violate that deal when it finishes integrating with Northwest.

The combined airline will be run from Delta's headquarters in Atlanta.
