The Minnesota Vikings say they still have 11,000 tickets left to sell for their Sunday afternoon playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles, to avoid a local television blackout.
The NFL has also extended the deadline by a day, which gives the Vikings until 3:30 p.m. on Friday to reach a sellout and allow the game to be broadcast on local TV.
"We have made progress selling tickets for the game, but still have work to do in order to sell the remaining 11,000 seats," said Steve LaCroix, Vikings vice president of sales.
LaCroix said the team is behind in ticket sales in part because of the holiday week, and also because fewer season ticket-holders than expected bought playoff tickets in advance.
The matchup is the first home playoff game hosted by the Vikings in eight years. The game begins Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
