(AP) - The state Health Department is reminding consumers to thoroughly cook frozen chicken dinners after more than a dozen people were sickened with salmonella.
The department has tied 14 cases of salmonella poisoning since June to frozen stuffed chicken entrees sold under the Milford Valley Farms brand.
The Health Department's Dr. Heidi Kassenborg says the chicken was raw, but she says consumers may not have realized that.
The implicated product is Milford Valley Farms Chicken Cordon Bleu and Chicken Kiev. This product is sold at many different grocery store chains.

The Health Department says consumers should make sure to cook all chicken products to an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
The company that makes the chicken dinners released a statement Friday reminding customers to carefully follow cooking instructions printed on the packages. The statement said the packages clearly state that the chicken should not be cooked in a microwave or toaster oven.
Each of the implicated products says "Est. P-2375" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The chicken cordon bleu products have code dates of C8121, C8126, and C8133 printed on the side of the package.
The chicken Kiev products have K8149 printed on the side of the package.
