Here is a breakdown of how the Republican and DFL Party delegates are being awarded to their parties' presidential candidates.

GOP delegate breakdown: 41 total

3 - given to state party chair, national committeeman, national committeewoman

24 - chosen at congressional level conventions (March 28 - April 19)

14 - chosen at state GOP convention, May 29-31 (in Rochester)

Only the first three delegates are known; two have been pledged for Mitt Romney, the other for Mike Huckabee.

------------------------------------

DFL delegate breakdown: 88 total

25 - statewide (proportional)

47 - congressional (proportional - five delegates for districts 1, 2, 6, 7; six delegates for districs 3, 8; seven delegates for district 4; eight delegates for district 5)

16 - superdelegates

The superdelegates are not bound by Tuesday night's caucus results. All of the state's top DFL officeholders are superdelegates, for example. The last two superdelegates won't be determined until the state DFL Party convention.

Some superdelegates have already endorsed a candidate. Here's a list of those delegates and which candidate, if any, they are supporting:

Vice President Walter Mondale -- Hillary Clinton

U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar -- uncommitted

U.S. Rep. Tim Walz -- Barack Obama

U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum -- Obama

U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison -- Obama

U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson -- uncommitted

U.S. Rep. James Oberstar -- Obama

DFL Party Chair Brian Melendez -- uncommitted

DFL Party Associate Chair Donna Cassutt -- uncommitted

Democratic National Committee member Ken Foxworth -- uncommitted

DNC member Rick Stafford -- Clinton

DNC member Jackie Stevenson -- Clinton

DNC member Nancy Larson - uncommitted

DNC member State Sen. Mee Moua -- Obama

* Given this tally, along with the DFL's initial (but not final) estimates, Obama has a preliminary lead in the Minnesota delegate count of 53-27 (with 8 uncommitted superdelegates).
