The ethics of technology in the "flat world"

Four influential Americans who have spent a lot of time thinking about technology gathered to discuss its effects -- good and bad -- recently at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.

The participants were New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, "60 Minutes" founder Don Hewitt, Rensselaer President Shirley Ann Jackson and astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison.
