The U.S. House Agriculture Committee, with Minnesota Rep. Collin Peterson as chairman, will consider the impact of imported contaminated food and feed ingredients on food safety in this country.

All the concern comes after melamine, the same chemical found in tainted pet food, has been found in chicken feed on poultry farms in Indiana. It was also found in hog feed last week.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer talked with Rep. Peterson about the issue. She also talked with Dr. Will Hueston, director of the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety at the University of Minnesota.
