A U.S. Marine searches for weapons while screening potential police recruits on Tuesday at Camp Ramadi, Iraq. Thousands of new recruits, almost all of them Sunnis, have applied to join the police force in Ramadi since the U.S. military strengthened their relationship with some key tribal leaders in recent months, say Army officials. Ramadi, located in Iraq's Anbar province, is considered the most violent province in the country, with daily battles between U.S. forces and insurgents.
