Two families of Minnesota National Guard members who were killed in Iraq over the weekend are now coming to terms with the news.
While the Department of Defense has not yet made an official announcement, family members say the National Guard soldiers were killed this Saturday.
Brian McDonough, 22, from Maplewood died in an explosion in Fallujah. Cory Rystad, who was 20 and from Red Lake Falls, was the other guard member who was killed.
His father, Jim Rystad, told MPR's Perry Finelli he got the news of his son's death yesterday morning.
