Rossellini says she steered herself away from the movie business when she was young. As the daughter of famed Italian director Roberto Rossellini and "Casablanca" star Ingrid Bergman, she wanted to make a name for herself elsewhere.
However she couldn't escape the lure of Hollywood, and made an unexpected film breakthrough in her early 30's with her role in David Lynch's creepy thriller.
Isabella Rossellini told Minnesota Public Radio's Euan Kerr she never expected "Blue Velvet to be the runaway hit it became.
The Walker retrospective is called "Isabella Rossellini: Illuminated." It runs for two weeks.
