
Meet Jessica Bari
Jessica Bari is a senior producer for Call to Mind from American Public Media, an initiative that fosters new conversations about mental health. She leads production for the series' nationally distributed broadcast hours.
Jessica is an award-winning journalist with a specialty in longform storytelling for radio, television, live summits and events. Her broadcast work has been on PBS, American Public Media radio stations, Discovery Channel, History Channel and SiriusXM Radio. She has produced interviews and panel discussions for The World Science Festival and Newsweek and The Daily Beast.
Jessica previously produced live programs for Women in the World summits from Tina Brown Live Media. There, her subjects ranged from the political force of Latinas in the United States to the worldwide abuse of women through the eyes of President Jimmy Carter. She is honored to help foster a new conversation about mental health through Call to Mind.
Jessica’s work has been honored with numerous awards and distinctions, including a Peabody Award, a Council on International Nontheatrical Events Golden Eagle Award, and an Award of Merit from the Midwest Broadcast Journalist Association.
Jessica studied communication studies and journalism at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She is a proud "Puerto-wegian" (Puerto Rican and Norwegian) and grew up in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities. She also lived in New York City for 13 years and considers both Minneapolis and Brooklyn home.
