State House speaker says investigation into lawmaker’s residency is possible even without formal ethics inquiry

DFL House Speaker Melissa Hortman says she could work with House attorneys to investigate whether Rep. John Thompson (DFL-St. Paul) has engaged in wrongdoing and deserves punishment.
