MPR News for June 20

Good morning! Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in central and southern Minnesota. Highs in the mid-60s to mid-70s. Today's rain is making us think back to five years ago, when over 10 inches fell in Duluth over a 24-hour period, nearly doubling the city's record for rainfall in a day. One of the hardest hit places was the Lake Superior Zoo. Kingsbury Creek, which runs through the zoo's grounds, flooded several exhibits, making them inaccessible. But it wasn't until someone reported seeing a seal in the middle of Grand Avenue in Duluth that zoo officials even knew it was flooding. | Forecast | Updraft weather blog
