Politics (and politicians) can be confusing. MPR News wants to be your guide to voting this fall by making sure all Minnesotans have what they need to vote.

We’re asking you and the people you care about to tell us what kind of coverage you want to see and hear in MPR News radio shows, podcasts, online stories, videos and more.

Our state’s midterm elections are coming up this November. Democratic Gov. Tim Walz faces a challenge from Republican Scott Jensen, and many other important city, county and statewide races are on the ballot across Minnesota.

So, tell us what you need to know about the 2022 election. Help us help you and your community make informed voting choices this November. By knowing what’s on your mind, we’ll know what we need to cover this election season — and what we might be missing.

We want to hear any and all questions and ideas, but here are some prompts to get you started:

Registering to vote and voting

  • What questions do you have about how to vote?

  • What is confusing about the process? How could we help?

  • Is this your first time voting? How do you feel about that?

The issues that matter most to you

  • What are the top issues for you and your community? (These can be broad like “public safety” or “climate change” or as specific to your area as you’d like.)

  • Is there something happening in your community that you think is important for this election?

  • If you could ask a Minnesota candidate running for office a question, who would it be and what would you ask them?

  • What do you wish journalists would ask politicians in Minnesota?
