The weather this weekend will be relatively calm, with mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will stay above average for this time of year, but a significant cool-down is expected for Thanksgiving week. There is a chance of light rain or snow showers late Sunday into Monday, particularly in northern Minnesota.

Despite the cloud cover, high temperatures in the metro area on Saturday are expected to reach around 40 degrees, which is above the average high of 38 degrees for this time of year. Cooler lower to mid-20s for northwestern Minnesota.

Typical November cloud cover will remain in place this weekend, with low stratus clouds covering the state on both Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday will bring warmer temperatures, with highs reaching the mid-40s in the Twin Cities. In western to northern Minnesota, seasonal average temperatures are expected, with highs ranging from the lower to mid-30s.

Clipper system on Sunday

Some light snow showers possible for areas north of Interstate 94 late Sunday into Monday. A clipper system will quickly push through producing some minor accumulations for the northland, with the North Shore potentially receiving several inches of snow.
