Eagan police are continuing increased patrols at Lebanon Hills Regional Park in the wake of two recent assaults.

Police said a woman was sexually assaulted last Thursday while walking on a trail near the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center and Cliff Road. Another woman was physically assaulted on Sept. 7 while walking on a trail near the Jensen Lake trailhead off Pilot Knob Road.

Eagan police said Monday the suspects in both cases were male, but “there is no evidence at this time that these incidents were in any way related or committed by the same person.”

Authorities also said they have limited information on a suspect in either case, but are actively working on leads.

While Eagan police and the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office are conducting extra patrols in and near the park, they’re urging people to use extra caution and avoid walking alone at Lebanon Hills. Anyone who sees suspicious activity at the park is urged to call 911.

Update (Nov. 19, 2024): Eagan police say report of assault at Lebanon Hills Regional Park was false.
