Wednesday will still be well above normal with highs in the 40s, 50s and 60s. Clouds will be on the increase ahead of a system that could bring significant rain to parts of southern Minnesota.
Cloudier Wednesday ahead of rain for some
Wednesday will still be well above normal with highs in the low 60s across southern Minnesota and 40s and 50s north.
This will be our sixth day of high temperatures at or above 60 degrees in the Twin Cities. On average, we don’t even hit 60 for the first time until March 23.
Clouds will be on the increase ahead of a storm system that will bring some rain to southern Minnesota Wednesday night into Thursday. The rain could mix with snow late Thursday as temperatures drop.

The most significant rainfall amounts will be in far southern Minnesota, mainly south of the Twin Cities area.
This does line up with areas that are seeing the worst drought conditions in the southern portions of Freeborn, Mower, Fillmore and Houston counties.
Colder for the weekend with snow north
Our weather behind the system Friday will be mainly dry along with a return of sunshine. Southern Minnesota will continue to see above normal highs near 50 degrees into Saturday.
A clipper system will bring rain and snow showers for the weekend and considerably colder temperatures.
Northern Minnesota could see some fresh snowfall Saturday and Sunday.
While highs Saturday will still be mild south, everyone will be colder Sunday with cold temps lingering into Monday.
