More light snow for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

The weather system that brought us light snow on Monday is still with us for Tuesday. The low pressure center has moved into Minnesota and will swirl light snow counter-clockwise around the state.

Snowfall amounts for Tuesday and Tuesday night should be mainly one to two inches for most sections, including the Twin Cities. Parts of western Minnesota will get less than an inch.

Travel conditions will be much less hazardous than the icy roads that led to crashes on Monday because major roads have been treated, snowfalls will be lighter and temperatures are a little warmer.

Heavier snow for the Arrowhead

One area that will get hit with heavier snow will continue to be the Arrowhead of northeastern Minnesota. A winter storm warning for Cook and Lake counties will continue until 6 a.m. Wednesday for heavy lake effect snow, especially along the upslopes near Lake Superior.

Light snow Wednesday-Thursday

Periods of light snow and flurries should stay with us on Wednesday and maybe into Thursday.

Colder temperatures coming

Temperatures will begin to crash on Thursday. By Friday and for Saturday we are likely to be looking at high temperatures in the teens statewide.
