Temperatures, dew points and thunderstorm chances will all rise over the next 24 hours. Western and southern Minnesota will see 90 degrees again Thursday with isolated thunderstorms.

A cold front breaks the heat and humidity late Saturday. Sunday looks delightful.

Hot temps, muggy weather return

High temperatures climb into the low to mid-90s again Thursday afternoon for much of southern and western Minnesota. We’ll see partly cloudy skies and increasing dew points once again.

Thunderstorm chances rise, then a cool break

With the increase in moisture, the atmosphere becomes less settled on Thursday. Isolated thunderstorms are already around parts of Minnesota. Activity will be spotty into Thursday night and Friday.

The better chance of widespread scattered storms will be late Friday into Saturday as a cold front sweeps across Minnesota from northwest to southeast. The better chance of significant rainfall remains in northern and western Minnesota through early Saturday.

The storms that do develop Thursday and Thursday night warrant a marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) of severe storms. There’s an increased risk of severe storms Friday night with a slight risk (level 2 out of 5).

Behind the front, temperatures and dew points will drop late Saturday. Sunday looks delightful with sunshine, lower humidity and highs mainly in the 70s statewide. Northeastern Minnesota may only see highs in the 60s.
