October reality check: Frost and freezing temperatures return
Expect more frost and freeze warnings for Friday morning.
It finally feels like October out there.
A seasonably chilly October air mass is blowing into Minnesota behind Wednesday’s rain. Temperatures in the 40s cover much of Minnesota Wednesday afternoon.
Blue is the winning color on the weather map across the Upper Midwest for the next several days. Highs Thursday hover in the 40s across most of Minnesota with a few low 50s in the south.
Frost and freeze warnings likely Thursday
Expect another round of frost advisories and freeze warnings to go up Thursday for Friday morning. Lows will dive below freezing across much of Minnesota. Temperatures may hover near or just above the freezing mark the next several mornings in the inner Twin Cities core, but widespread frost is likely.
Right now Tuesday looks like the warmest day of the next week for Minnesota. Highs will be mostly in the 50s south and 40s north for the next week. The Twin Cities and southern Minnesota will be mostly in the 50s, with a few 60s likely next Tuesday.
Our next rain chance arrives Sunday into Monday.
