Summer-like temperatures as we head into October
Rain chances return to Minnesota the second half of the week
Temperatures more typical of summer continue across Minnesota most of our first full week of fall, with sunshine the first part of the week, then a few showers late in the week.
Sunday night and Monday
Following a warm Sunday, where most of Minnesota made it into the 70s and 80s, with a couple 90s southwest, the overnight also stays above average. Lows Monday morning are forecast to be in the 40s north and 50s south, with most of the state starting the day about 5 degrees above average lows for late September.
Light winds from the north on Monday will drop highs a couple degrees from Sunday’s warmth, although highs for much of the state will still be about 10 degrees above average. Most of the state makes it into the 70s, with a few 60s in the Arrowhead and 80s southwest, under plentiful sunshine.
Extended forecast
By Tuesday, Minnesota will be ahead of a slow-moving warm front which pushes most of the state back into the 80s both Tuesday and Wednesday.
That same weather system eventually moves more clouds across the state Wednesday, with a rain chance west.
The low pressure center of that storm currently looks like it will slide south of the state Thursday, bringing showers and a few storms Thursday and Friday.

Spotty shower activity is also possible into next weekend.
That system brings back slightly cooler air, dropping highs for most of Minnesota back into the low 70s by the weekend. That is more seasonable weather for early October, but is still a couple degrees above average.
