Officers encountered about 300 people as they arrived at Indian Mounds Regional Park Sunday night in what Linders described as a chaotic scene.

Police were called to the park on reports of a group of people fighting and shots fired. They found a man on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Linders said another man hit by gunfire was treated at Regions Hospital and released. Investigators are trying to piece together the events that led up to the shooting.
