"At this time we do not have information that would lead us to believe that this was a stranger abduction or kidnapping," she said. "We do have information that lead us to believe he's with someone he may know."

The boy's father reported him missing around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was last seen at his apartment building at the 5400 block of Douglas Drive North.

Deputy chief Mike Meehan said surveillance footage shows the boy attempted to enter the building, looked inside and turned around and left.

Police said they're still reviewing security footage. Revering said they don't believe the boy is in danger.

The Crystal Police Department has called in the FBI and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to help with the search.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension describes Barway as African-American, 5 feet tall and weighing 80 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, white T-shirt, black pants, red shoes and carrying a red backpack.
