The city of St. Paul is searching for a permanent replacement for retired police chief Todd Axtell, who finished his 33-year career in the St. Paul Police Department on Wednesday.
Moments after stepping out of his squad car and taking off his duty belt for the last time, Axtell spoke with MPR News reporter Tim Nelson about what he did — and didn't — get done in six years as chief.
