Photos: Dreaming big and chasing fog in Minnesota's Wright County
Every artist needs a muse.
Photographer Christine Fagerlie draws inspiration from the graceful pastures, dense woods and a lone creek surrounding her family's ranch-style rental. The house is one of four located on a 250-acre farm in Minnesota's Wright County.
Fagerlie, 48, a longtime life insurance underwriter and self-taught photographer, begins most days peering out a trio of windows facing east. "We have a wide open view of sunrise," she said. Fagerlie hopes for fog and gauges the light's quality. The presence of fog, in particular, means nudging work tasks a bit.
Fagerlie, her boyfriend and teenage daughter moved from Crystal, Minn., a Twin Cities suburb, to the rural property near Buffalo, Minn., about a year ago. "We've all blossomed here," Fagerlie said.
The relocation has proven particularly transformative for Fagerlie's photography, which she shares on Instagram via @dreaming_big_mn. An abundance of dramatic skies, dreamy landscapes and colorful farm scenes infuse her feed.
