Minnesota's fall color show has certainly picked up momentum in recent days.

A fall color map, which is maintained and updated by the state's Department of Natural Resources, is an excellent resource for leaf peepers with travel plans. And, at least one forecaster is saying Minnesota may be headed toward the finest fall color display in years.
A stake sculpture decorated with pumpkins is on display during a horticultural exhibition in Erfurt, Germany on Sept. 9. Gardeners used more than 20,000 pumpkins to create different sculptures.
