Suspect nabbed in State Fair beer hall robbery

One person is in custody in connection with the Aug. 29 armed robbery of a craft brewer operation at the Minnesota State Fair, fair officials said Wednesday.

Armed robbers tied up employees and stole more than $10,000 from the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild's exhibit. Officials said it was the first armed robbery of a vendor in Minnesota State Fair history.

A gun allegedly used in the robbery was also recovered, the fair said Wednesday, adding the investigation by St. Paul and fair police remains active and the suspect's ID is not being released at this time.

The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild's "Land of 10,000 Beers' Craft Beer Hall" exhibit sold flights of beer from dozens of Minnesota brewers. This was the third year the guild has hosted the exhibit at the fair.
